Jessica Zhang is a child actress, known for her work in Les Misérables as little Cosette, a role she took on in the 2007/2008 cast alongside Julia Adams. She was born in Newcastle, England and adopted into a Vietnamese family during infancy. Jessica grew up in Newcastle until she was eight, when her family moved to London. It was here that Jessica, who'd always been labelled as "little drama queen" by her parents and two older brothers, decided to audition for the role of little Cosette. She got the news that she had been selected as one of the two actresses to take on the role.
The image to the right features Jessica at age eight, when she first moved to London, though she turned nine with the cast.
Unlike her young costar Julia, Jessica never found much work in theater afterwards. She had a very small role in Sherlock, briefly, as well as a part in the chorous of Mary Poppins when she was eleven, and she sang the token song Let's Go Fly a Kite! at the end, as well as the famous Supercallafragilisticexpealadocious. Recently however Jessica reprised her role as little Cosette in a school play.
