Gaby Tsoulis (born Gabrielle Tsoulis) was a child actress in the 1990's who portrayed the character of Young Éponine in the 1996 Philadelphia tour of Les Miserables. She had already established herself as a child actress by then, being ten years old, and her role as young Éponine was her first non-singing role, and it was also the first time she played a named character and did not share her role with another young actress. Gaby continued on to have a successful career as a now-adult actress, though during her adolescence she left the stage and returned only a few years ago. She has never performed on Broadway.
This picture to the right is her cast picture when she had been working with a youth production of The Wizard of Oz the year before.
Early Life and CareerEdit
Gaby Tsoulis, whose legal name is Gabrielle Tsoulis, was born on April 15, 1986 to Mark and Ellie Tsoulis in Philadelphia, United States. She is an only child. She grew up in a middle-class neighborhood of Philadelphia, her mother working as a secretary at a dental office. Her father, however, had some performing in his genes, because he had done a great deal of Shakespeare plays in community theaters himself as a young person. However he found himself unsuccessful as an actor and instead found work in an office. In her early years, Gaby was always encouraged to pursue her dreams by both her parents.
She attended a private school where she began to take up drama in her first year at age six and quickly fell in love with the idea of acting. Aside from her daily drama classes at school, Gaby began to take singing classes and dance classes, making her stage debut just one year later as part of the chorus in a community production of Oliver!
Two years later Gaby joined a youth theater troupe where she starred in their production of The Wizard of Oz as Dorothy, singing all the iconic songs such as Over the Rainbow. Her spot in Les Miserables was her first professional and paid credit, and she soon went on to have roles in many other musicals throughout her youth.
