Personal Life Edit
Elsie Stilman was born Elsie Marette Stilman on the 9th of February, 2002 to Camille (nee Johnson) and Christopher Stilman in the town of West Milford, New Jersey. She has one older brother named Noah (b. April 1994).
Elsie likes acting and singing very much, but she does not have any plans on pursuing a professional theatre role. She is more learned in the clarinet, which she began to take lessons for at the age of three. She would like to play clarinet in the orchestra of Broadway musicals when she grows up. But in 2011, Elsie's school launched a production of the popular musical Jesus Christ Superstar and her vocals teacher encouraged her to audition. She did, and because she was one of the younger children participating she was given a small role as a part of the chorus. While she had never taken theatre before, Elsie enjoyed the experience so when a nation-wide call for young girls to audition for the part of Little Cosette in Les Miserables came to New Jersey, her maternal grandmother took her by request to the casting agency in Jersey City, where Elsie gave her audition.
She was not given the part of Little Cosette but was offered the smaller role of Young Eponine, which Elsie took, as well as an option to be one of Little Cosette's two understudies should either of the young actresses be unavailable. She was also a chorus member.
When finished with Les Mis, Elsie tried out for a youth community play of Guys and Dolls two years later, and was given the sizable role of Miss Adelaide.
